Op Saterdag, 15 Mei 2010 om 10:00 het vyf van die dames by Leoni Cornelissen se huis vergader vir rekenaaropleiding. Persone teenwoordig was, Drienie Visser, Charlene van Zyl, Juliana Fourie, Leonie Cornelissen, Eirene Hoving, Babs Holtzhauzen en Pieter. Pieter werk saam met Leoni en doen tekeninge op die rekenaar. Hy is baie goed met rekenaars en daarom het hy aangebied om ons met die opleiding te help.

Pieter het vir tannie Babs laat sit voor die rekenaar en haar bietjie touwys gemaak. Ons het haar die VLV se webtuiste gewys. Sy het ook geleer hoe om ‘n epos te stuur en tikwerk te doen op Microsoft Word. Pieter het haar gewys hoe om die rekenaar aan en af te skakel en algemene inligting gegee oor hoe om die rekenaar te versorg. Hy het haar ook gewys dat mens jou banksake op die internet kan doen, maar dat mens moet waak teen e-posse wat jou inligting soek.  Mens moet eers na jou bank toe gaan en alle inligting by hulle kry alvorens jy met internetbankdienste wil voortgaan. 

Tannie Babs het almal bedank en gesê sy sal ons op hoogte hou van haar vordering tuis.

We invited Riekert Botha and his beautiful wife, Pippa, to come and share the message of Love and relationships, on the 13th Feb 2010, here in Springbok. 

Riekert Botha is a young minister from Vredendal, who has a modern and humouristic edge, in the manner of getting his message across.  He is also a guest-speaker on RSG.  And he definitely had his audience captivated throughout.….

When you are walking in a park or through a mall, have you ever noticed the couples around you, how many of them still walk hand-in-hand?

When last have you said “I love you” to your wife, your husband, your mom and dad or even to your friend? My mom always said to me that it just wasn’t proper to do such things in “her day”.

In a society and world like today, we so dearly want to raise our children to be respectful and well mannered.  Our sons to respect their partners and all women in their lives.  We want to teach our children all about forgiveness.  But how can we do that, when we ourselves find it difficult to ask for forgiveness, especially when we have done something wrong?

It’s so hard to say the words:  “I’m sorry…..Please forgive me….My ego and pride got the better of me”.

In a relationship, there has to be communication between both parties.  A method of reciprocation and compromise.  Making sacrifices without complaint or expectations.  And above all else, allowing the Lord Jesus Christ to live in both your hearts.  And where Christ is….there is unconditional Love!

All the guests were greeted with a cool refreshment before the sermon.  And after the sermon, the guests could chat with Riekert over a cup of tea or coffee.  His books on “Verhoudings” were on sale.  Guests could buy them and have them personally autographed.  The ladies of VLV Springbok each provided scrumptious and tasty pastries and snacks, enough for all the guests to feast on while waiting to get a word in (and even a photograph) with Riekert.
