The Committee, Members and residence of Wittedrift sadly mourn the tragic passing of Johanna Magdalena Blignault, who was murdered at her home on Saturday 19 September 2009. She was a member of the WAA for 55 years, 35 of which she served as the secretary. Haar lewe getuig van sagtheid, mensliewendheid en diens. Daar was nie kwaad in haar nie.
May she rest in Peace.
A crowd of angry Wittedrift and Green Valley residents gathered outside the Plettenberg Bay Magistrate Court to hand over a petition signed by more than 1007 people to make sure that the two youths arrested for the stabbing to death of Johanna Blignault were not given bail. Many WAA members were there to show their support for their long time member. The two youths were arrested at the home they shared with the grandmother of one of the boys. They were fed sandwiches by Johanna Blignault before they mercilessly stabbed her in the neck and chest.
